ATW 2026: A Day of Discovery at Cockle Park Farm
What a fantastic day at Cockle Park Farm! As part of Agri-Tech Week, we welcomed visitors for an engaging and enjoyable event exploring the exciting research and innovative farming practices taking place across Newcastle University Farms.
The day offered a fantastic opportunity to get out onto the farm and see agricultural research in action. Our guided trailer ride took visitors across the farm, providing a closer look at projects exploring agroforestry, biomass production, arable crops, soil management, mob grazing and sustainable land management. Along the way, there was plenty of wildlife to spot, making the experience all the more memorable!
Visitors also had the opportunity to explore the science behind sustainable farming during our seminar on Regenerative and Low Input Farming Systems, sparking conversations about how innovative approaches can support productive, resilient and environmentally responsible agriculture.
The feedback from attendees was brilliant, with one visitor sharing:
“I really enjoyed the trailer ride, and we saw lots of wildlife as well as learning all about agroforestry and arable crops!”
And, of course, no successful farm event would be complete without some refreshments! The cake and scones proved particularly popular, providing the perfect opportunity to relax, catch up and continue conversations.
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the day such a success. It was wonderful to bring people together to share ideas, discover the research happening at Cockle Park Farm and enjoy a little bit of farm life along the way!
