Newcastle University has strong research focus in all aspects of agricultural production systems, with a heavy focus on regenerative, net zero and sustainable practices.

NU has two farms spanning arable and livestock, and research areas including mod grazing, diverse lays, GHG monitoring, enhanced rock weathering and soil science, agroforestry, and animal welfare.

In addition to the on-farm research there is an active plant sciences team who work on more fundamental aspects of crop science and protection.
