The REAP Conference 2026, 4 November
With the Government setting out an ambitious plan for horticulture and putting robotics firmly on the agricultural agenda, the direction of travel is clear: technology has a growing role to play in the future of farming. At REAP 2026, we’ll explore that journey from every angle - science, technology, farming, supply chain and more.

What should technology solve next for growers?

If your summer has been one heatwave rolling into the next, punctuated by a hosepipe ban and a fertiliser invoice that made you wince, then… congratulations! You’ve had a normal 2026.

Growers are being squeezed from every direction. Skilled labour is harder to find and more expensive and input costs remain as unpredictable as the weather. Meanwhile, expectations around yield, quality, sustainability and reporting continue to rise.

As our changing climate throws more and more “unprecedented” events our way, we need to make sure growers have the right tools to manage them. Technology can solve many of the issues facing the industry — but only if it’s designed to meet the problems growers actually face.

Fotenix is running a short survey for commercial growers, agronomists, site managers and other horticultural professionals to understand the pressures having the greatest impact on growing businesses today. We want to know how crop health is currently monitored, and which problem you would prioritise if you could invest in just one solution.

The survey takes approximately three minutes to complete. Your answers will help build a clearer picture of where technology could make the greatest practical difference, and help ensure future development is shaped by growers’ priorities, rather than assumptions made outside the glasshouse.

Participants can choose to receive a summary of the aggregated findings, providing a useful benchmark for what others are dealing with, as well as insight into the investment priorities being reported across the sector. And there’s the chance to throw your hat in the ring and opt in to a draw to win one of three £50 Amazon vouchers.

Click here to take the survey and discover how your season compares to everyone else’s. Survey closes 30th September.
