REAP Conference 2025: Connect, Co-Develop, Co-Exist
About
In its 12th year, the REAP Conference is Agri-TechE ’s flagship event that unites our ecosystem around a topical theme. It attracts researchers, innovators, government officials, agribusiness leaders and farmers from across the UK and beyond.
With over a decade of experience, REAP has built a reputation for uniting the agri-tech ecosystem around a pressing, topical theme.

REAP Conference 2025: Theme
This year’s REAP conference will focus on what could be the three most vital pillars for the future of farming: Connection, Co-Development and Co-Existence.
As pressure on resources, land, time, money and people continues to grow, sharing and collaborating is increasingly key. But collaboration is more than working together, it’s about co-creation. As we discovered at our Challenge Convention, solutions designed with user-centered focus are the ones more likely to gain real traction on farm and in the wider supply chain.
At farm level, the “systems” approach encourages an understanding of the inter-dependence of plants, crops, insects, livestock, microbes, soils, people and the wider environment. From companion cropping to on-farm diversification to the delivery of ecosystem services alongside food production – schemes and approaches, technologies and practices must find ways to co-exist as never before.

Previous REAP Conferences have explored the concept of “One Agriculture,” scale and time in agri-tech, and the tension between bespoke management and a “one-size-fits-all” approach.
This year we’re building on what we have learned as an agri-tech ecosystem.
Connections remain essential, but it’s co-development and co-creation, shaped by industry requirements and mission-led innovation, that will drive the meaningful, scalable change needed to really make a difference on farm and in the supply chain.

We’ve also listened to your feedback (spoiler alert – delegates liked a lot of it!). Which is why REAP 2025 will see us in a new venue, with a bigger technology exhibition, and fresh features to reflect the bold, data-driven, tech-empowered, purpose-led direction of our industry.
Join us at REAP 2025.
If eligible, you can get 3 Basis CPD points for attending REAP conference 2025.
Agenda
The annual peer group of innovative farmers in a closed session with the keynote speaker(s). If eligible, you can get 3 CPD Basis / 3 NRoSO / 3 TIAH CPD points for attending REAP conference 2025.

CHAIR: Paul Waberski, Head of Agri-Business Consultancy, Partner at Brown&Co

Minette Batters, Farmer & Member of the House of Lords.
Farmers and growers are at the heart of the agri-tech revolution – at the interface between inputs and outputs. Technology can help them reduce the first, and increase the second, but the decisions around return on investment for adoption are complex. This session will feature leading farmers explaining how they are participating in co-design of the new ways of working and balancing the co-existence of so many demands.
Kindly sponsored by AHDB.
CHAIR: Craig Patrick, Lead Knowledge Exchange Manager, AHDB
- Ali Capper, Partner at Stocks Farm, Suckley, Worcestershire
- Jake Freestone, Farm Manager at Overbury Enterprises, Gloucestershire
- James Beamish, Director at Holkham Farming Company
- Laura Rous, Managing Partner at Dennington Hall
Take a moment to recharge, check out the exhibition, and network with fellow attendees.
A deeper-dive into the scientific endeavors underway in the UK Universities and research institutes. Using an “everyday object” to help illustrate the inspiration behind their science, you’ll be introduced to a selection of farmer-focused researchers and their work. In a “fireside chat” format, our farmer chairman will tease out that all-important “so what” question to learn the impact of their research for the industry.
CHAIR: Andrew Blenkiron, Managing Director of Elveden Farms, Suffolk
Kindly sponsored by Norwich Research Park
Early stage agri-tech ventures are a crucial innovation engine for the industry and to gain a early insight of the technologies poised to streamline operations, reduce costs, and yield new, actionable insights on your farm. Renowned for featuring the Ones to Watch in the years ahead, this session reveals our picks for the future of farming. The line up for the REAP 2025 Start-up Showcase is kept secret until the day.
CHAIR: Nicole Sadd, CEO, Rothamsted Enterprises
Kindly sponsored by Rothamsted Enterprises

There is no “one-size-fits-all” when it comes to agriculture. Different tools, services, practices, expectations and ideologies sit alongside each other, not always comfortably. But as demands grow on the use of land for food, energy, environmental services, housing and development, more alignment of approaches is going to be needed. In this session we hear from experts in machinery, research and policy experts to explore how we can effectively reconcile disparate demands and co-develop innovative solutions.
CHAIR: Veryan Bliss, Director, Food Intelligence
- “Developing a systems approach to agricultural technology” – Mark Moore, Director, Government Affairs, AGCO Corporation
- “From Lab to Field: How can plant science deliver practical solutions for farmers?” Mario Caccamo, CEO, Niab
- [Closing Keynote] “A view through the carbon lens – from scientific theory to field view” – Harley Stoddart, Head of Climate Mitigation Science, Defra

Mark McMullan
Senior Researcher at Earlham InstituteMark McMullan is an evolutionary biologist developing genetic surveillance tools to stay ahead of crop disease threats. By tracking how resistance evolves in wild crop relatives and how virulence emerges in pathogens, his work reveals the genetic ingredients of both invasion and defence. This dual approach points the way to earlier detection of dangerous pathogen strains and rapid identification of resistance genes that can stop them. His current research focuses on wheat take-all, the world’s most important wheat root disease, and sugar beet rust, a pathogen moving between crops and their wild relatives.

Farmers and students bursary sponsorWe’re the professional body helping farmers and growers fulfil their potential in a thriving industry.
In an industry that continues to change, adaptability is becoming increasingly important, not only to survive now, but to thrive in the future.
Although farmers have been using technology for a long time, the pace of new developments is faster than ever, and farmers must now adopt a wider range of tools to run successful and resilient businesses.
However, technology alone is not the answer.
Real change will depend on the industry working together to help farmers and growers build their skills, develop their teams, and use new technology effectively. Sharing knowledge and supporting skill development is essential for making the most of these changes. As the professional body for farmers and growers, TIAH is committed to ensuring that current and future generations have the expertise needed to adopt new ideas and tools confidently.
