It is ranked first for it’s research in the area of agriculture, food and veterinary sciences (Times Higher Education Rankings for REF 2021).

A dual intensive university, UEA currently has 3 strategic research themes; ClimateUEA, CreativeUEA and HealthUEA, bringing together academics from across disciplines to explore new ideas, develop new projects and work on solutions to key challenges.

UEA offers a wide range of opportunities to support businesses to grow, recruit talent, and access new funding, markets and innovations and collaborate with world-leading academic experts. For example, by assisting in the development of new products and services, access funding or identify areas for cost savings, solve technical and operational challenges, advise on strategic decisions, deliver executive leadership programmes and more.

As a leading member of the Norwich Research Park (NRP), UEA has strong collaborative research links across the Park. Norwich Research Park. This includes Norwich Institute of Healthy Ageing (NIHA) which develops and implements strategies to promote sustained population behaviour change to improve physical and mental wellbeing.

UEA is also a partner in the Norwich Institute for Sustainable Development which unites researchers working across environmental, plant, microbial, food, health and social sciences to enable equitable, food secure and sustainable futures.

Tastebuds Collective (https://tastebudscollective.co.uk/), a collective for food and drink innovators, has been developed with UEA to promote knowledge exchange, collaboration and innovation, driving economic growth of the food and drink sector and raising the profile of the region’s food and drink offerings.
