Within the range of £31,200 to £45,759 per annum pro-rata*
*Starting salary subject to college salary assessment process
21 hours per week, 52 weeks a year
(Working 21 hours per week for 52 weeks per year, this equates to a range of £18,720 to £27,455.4 per annum)

The role would require you to teach and assess Environmental related subjects up to Level 3 to a wide range of students. You should have relevant up-to-date industry experience in the conservation or environmental sector, supported by a relevant Level 3 qualification or industry related equivalent.

Suffolk New College can provide relevant teacher training to those individuals who can demonstrate the potential to become effective teachers.

This post is based at Suffolk Rural campus, however Suffolk New College is a multi-campus therefore you may be required to work at and travel between campuses.

About You

The Lecturer in Land Management will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and assessment, ensuring an exceptional learning experience for all students. This role involves monitoring learner progress and achievement while actively contributing as a team member within the curriculum area, the Directorate, and the wider College.

Our Directorate of Land-Based, Animal & Equine and Suffolk Centre of Culinary Arts is based at the Suffolk Rural campus of Suffolk New College, located in Otley, just a few miles from Ipswich. As a specialist land-based campus, Suffolk Rural provides an extensive range of courses supported by dedicated facilities, expert staff, and industry-relevant equipment.
The directorate delivers a diverse portfolio of specialist qualifications across Agriculture, Arboriculture, Horticulture, Floristry, Animal Studies, and Equine. This is an exciting period of growth and development, with learners benefiting from access to a working farm that supports both arable and livestock farming.
Land Management Curriculum
Our Land Management curriculum offers Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 qualifications designed to build strong theoretical understanding alongside practical, industry aligned skills. Learners can specialise in two key pathways:
• Arboriculture
• Land and Wildlife
This curriculum has been developed to meet current sector needs, with a clear ambition to expand provision further in response to the national green skills shortage. Our programmes prepare learners for progression into employment, apprenticeships, or higher level study within the land-based industries.
Suffolk Rural provides outstanding opportunities for learners to gain hands-on experience through practical activities using industry-standard machinery and equipment. Our specialist courses are available on both a full-time and part-time basis, ensuring accessibility for a diverse range of learners while also meeting the needs of employers in the sector.
