The ARISE Innovation Forum will showcase the trilateral innovation capability of the DSIT-funded ARISE project, bringing together insights and learning from recent engagements in Brazil and St Louis into a single, high-impact day for the UK agri-tech community.

A key feature are the partnering meetings, with more info below on who you can connect with on a 1:1 basis. This is your opportunity to fast-track relationship building across these geographies with key organisations.

We'll also be highlighting UK leadership in frontier technologies while promoting research and investment partnerships across the participating regions.

Through focused discussion and knowledge exchange, the event will create opportunities for co-investment, research alignment, and future joint activity, serving as a catalyst for the next phase of collaboration and innovation.

Adam Brown is the Head of UK Economic and Social Policy at Cambridge Econometrics, bringing over 15 years of experience in applying a systems analytics approach to complex social and economic challenges. He works closely with clients and collaborators across the UK, helping them understand how sectors, clusters, and local economies evolve over time and the role of public policy in shaping these outcomes. His expertise spans agglomeration, transport and housing, net-zero initiatives, labour markets, and innovation.

Adam leads a team of economists and modelling experts, overseeing complex and highly technical projects for a wide range of public sector clients. His work supports departments across UK Government, local authorities, sub-national transport bodies, and the European Union.

He holds a BSc in Economics and Management from the University of London and a PhD in complex systems modelling from the University of Nottingham. He is currently a Visiting Researcher in Innovation Systems at Oxford Brookes Business School and an Associate at University of Birmingham’s City-Regional Economic Development Institute.

Tim Willis, Associate Director for International, talks about the work of the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council. 

Part of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) is the UK’s major public funder of world-leading bioscience research and innovation. They act as a steward and enabler for UK bioscience.

James Sharp, Deputy Sector Lead for Agri-Tech Investment will take us through the role of DBT in enabling overseas collaborations in agri-tech.

James supports agri-tech businesses to invest in the UK and works across government to guide policymaking to make it easier and more attractive to invest in the UK. Prior to working in Government, James worked on field trials for PepsiCo and a contract research organisation before joining Syngenta’s global sustainability function, in Switzerland.
