Future Farms: Vertical Growing, Insect Cultivation & DIY Biologicals

Future Farms: Vertical Growing, Insect Cultivation & DIY Biologicals

How can agri-tech help make money, or reduce costs for farmers and landowners?

From on-farm production of your own biological inputs, to raise-your-own insects, and controlled environment crop facilities for niche and alternative crops, could farms – or farming clusters – become a new cohort of mini-manufacturers?

Small scale fermenters, home-grown insect facilities and modular crop production systems are being developed to bring new opportunities to farmers and landowners.

As well as creating potential new revenue streams for farmers, and valuable material to use or to sell on, these technologies have the potential to shorten supply chains, create new, high skilled jobs and develop alternative business models and support companies.

But is it right for everyone? Some solutions might have specific infrastructure demands (such as energy sources) or high capital set-up costs, while others might require planning policies to enable adoption.

► Join us as we explore the right tech, for the right market, in the right place.

We’ll be busting some myths to help you decide if it’s right for you, as well as unpacking what is really needed to diversify into these new high-tech production systems.

Join us to explore the potential for your farm, your land, your clients – or just to learn more!
