About
Funded by government, BBSRC invested £494.6M in world-class bioscience in 2020/21, supporting around 1,600 scientists in universities and institutes across the UK.
The UK needs growing and profitable businesses to achieve its economic, societal and environmental goals. BBSRC has a role to underpin and enable businesses to identify growth opportunities and to access innovations.
Agriculture and food security is a strategic priority for BBSRC and we aim to realise the potential of scientific advances for farmers and growers. We invest to support the sector to overcome challenges and to develop capabilities that are responsive to new opportunities across the entire agri-food supply chain.
