About
We are reducing the carbon footprint of building and other man made materials through deploying a "carbon negative" unique material, which is grown using cyanobacteria, and which has a wide range of applications in many sectors, including buildings, transport, space, and industrial/manufacturing.
Tattva has developed PhD research to design a platform technology that directly sequesters CO2 to produce a range of high-performance bioengineered materials. 1 tonne CO2 can be sequestered in 4 m3 of material production with oxygen and clean water as byproducts.
Tattva bioengineered materials are the only class of biomaterials that combine light weight structural integrity with high grade insulation and fire-safety. Tattva's materials can be programmed to give adaptive colours, optical translucency, active air-filtration and self-healing.
Photosynthetic Cyanobacteria naturally sequester CO2 as calcium-carbonate to form stromatolites, which take centuries to form (and are the oldest fossils in the fossil record (3.5Bn years old), and gave Earth its first oxygen atmosphere. Our process creates the mineralised material in days.
