Agri Tech Meets... Space on 16 July
Space tech and AI are giving us a level of visibility and connectivity in farming that hasn’t existed before, making it possible to see every field, every crop, every risk in near real time. Our online event highlights where cross sector collaborations are emerging, what problems agriculture is actively trying to solve with space tech, and where there’s real pull for new products, research partnerships and investment.

About

Suffolk New College is a multi-award winning FE College based in Suffolk with campuses at Suffolk Rural in Otley for land-based provision, at Ipswich, and  ‘On the Coast’ at Leiston & Halesworth.

The College focuses upon providing a curriculum that meets the needs of students, employers and the wider community. The offer takes into account the needs of providing a skilled workforce for the future through short courses for industryapprenticeships and higher education, as well as programmes for adults and young people.

Please see our wise range of courses which provide an extensive range of learning.

The College also has plans to develop further the use of Agri-tech in the curriculum at Suffolk Rural – site of the College Farm and Horticultural facilities. By utilising such resources as drone technology for crop and animal monitoring and by establishing a Suffolk agricultural engineering centre, the land-based team are working with industry-leading associates to provide a truly exceptional student experience. We are also developing plans to invest in resources to support the local Food Industry. Our close relationships with a number of stakeholders in land-based sectors result in a training offer that it continuously focused on the skills required for the future.

The College’s Strategic Plan, outlines how they will support projects such as the Sizewell C Nuclear Power project. In addition to the ‘On the Coast’ developments, exciting new state-of-the-art Tech Campus and Health Science campuses have been built – another indicator of the College’s response to employer need.
