At Fischer Farms, we are creating the farm of the future. We are pioneers in vertical farming, leading the way in scalable food production to provide a more resilient and sustainable way to feed the world.
Our ground-breaking vertical farms use the latest technology to grow high quality fresh produce, in the UK 365-days-a-year to minimise food miles and imports from around the world.
Our farm has a significantly lower environmental impact than conventional farms. We have a closed loop irrigation system, which means we use 5% of the water compared to conventional farms and eliminates nitrate and phosphate run offs into local water ways. We only need a fraction of the land of a conventional farm; our 4-acre farm produces the equivalent of 1000 acres of British farmland.
All our produce is grown without use of any pesticides, herbicides and insecticides which damage the local environment. By creating a perfect growing environment for conventional seeds, we can growcrops of outstanding quality and taste.
Today we are growing salads and herbsand have started trials to grow soft fruits. The goal, however, is for Fischer Farms to grow staple crops, such as rice, wheat, soy and peas. So that we can feed the world despite the impacts of climate change.
