Exhibition opportunity for naturetech innovators!
As agriculture navigates a new landscape of environmental ambition, our next conference spotlights ‘NatureTech’ innovation for enabling the delivery, measurement, and monetisation of ecosystem services across UK farmland. We’re looking for innovators to exhibit their technology at the one-day event “The Productive Landscape: NatureTech for Profit and Planet” on 28th April 2026.

About

UK SME Farmer Charlie offers soil sensors for plants, herbs, vegetables, and fruit grown indoors and outdoors, making farming easy.

The indoor soil sensor connects to Wi-Fi, and its lovely design will embellish any home. The outdoor sensor, equally pretty, is plug and play (4G/5G; the SIM card − valid for all UK networks − is ready to use), GPS-localised, and can be powered by a small solar panel. Both have a 3-year battery life. Our user-friendly, smart app helps anyone become a confident farmer.

The sensors have been developed to be sustainable and have a casing made of British bioplastic. Once their life cycle ends, their return is free of charge.

One sensor can be used by several farmers as invited by the sensor owner, making it an easy tool to help farming in allotments, shared gardens, and remote locations. It will not be necessary to constantly check the best times for irrigating plants, vegetables, fruits, and herbs.

The sensors are manufactured in the UK for better quality and quicker supply chain times. Our star sensors measure soil humidity and temperature. However, additional sensors will follow soon.

Growing vegetables in your patch, raised bed, pot, or allotment is easy thanks to Farmer Charlie's targeted advice, which also saves water, fertilizer, and pesticide, reminding you when to water your plants based on their needs.

Our story started in remote areas of emerging countries when we assisted smallholders in farming activities to reduce waste. In March 2024, our last project, Energy Catalyst 9 Cool Mangoes, adapted our soil sensors to monitor temperature and humidity in refrigerated containers. Thanks to the system, the mango cooperative staff don't have to check the temperature every hour, the door doesn't risk remaining ajar unattended, and energy is saved.
