About
The East of England Agricultural Society is a charity based at the East of England Showground in Peterborough, with a core objective of promoting agriculture and rural life within the region.
The Society predominantly delivers on these objectives through education, grant awarding and knowledge exchange opportunities.
Some of our key initiatives-
Scholars Programme- Funding pot to help support once in a lifetime career development opportunities
Marshal Papworth Fund- Funding students from developing countries to undertake sustainable farming courses in the UK
Kids Country- Visiting primary schools to teach children in a hands-on way about how food ends up on their plate.
The Societies objectives are delivered with the aid of a membership that covers a wide array of ages and interest groups. Members are supporters of the Society\'s charitable objectives and often get involved with volunteering and committee roles.
The Society was set up in 1797 with the idea of promoting best practice within the industry, and the same concept still stands over 200 years later.
