Rob Bradburne, Chief Scientist at the Environment Agency, will be opening as the keynote speaker at the NatureTech Conference on 28th April
With the Environmental Improvement Plan 2025 published at the end of last year, it’s a timely moment to hear the Agency’s thinking first hand - and to respond with your own reflections from the field, lab or workshop.

About

Now managed by the 5th generation of the family, the farm produces pre-pack potatoes for the retail sector as well as Cereals, Oilseed Rape and Sugar Beet.

The adoption of precision farming techniques is a recent example in a long history of harnessing new technology to increase yields and quality, whilst maintaining or reducing input costs.  With a range of soil types across the farm, from peaty loams to heavier clay loams, the ability to tailor cultivations and inputs according to soil type enables us to farm efficiently whilst paying the same attention to detail that would be familiar to previous generations.

Sustainable soil management practices and environmental considerations are key to the way we farm, with a significant area of the farm designated to the promotion of habitats benefitting pollinators and farmland birds and mammals.
