About

The BBRO is a non-profit making company set up jointly by British Sugar plc (BS) and the National Farmers’ Union (NFU) and is committed to meeting the research needs of the industry.

Sugar beet is an important agricultural crop in the UK, However, the crop faces challenges such as pests, diseases, changing climate conditions, and the need to reduce environmental impacts. As a result, ongoing research is essential to improve yields, increase resistance to disease, enhance sustainability, and ensure that sugar beet remains a viable and competitive crop in the future.
