About

EcoNomad Solutions is an award-winning agritech start-up with a clear ambition: to reduce the environmental impact of livestocksmallholdings by enabling farmers of any size to convert their animal waste into renewable energy and fertiliser.

Our proprietary technologies will allow even the smallest farmers to access and deploy affordable, easy-to-use solutions on their own farms, increasing their ability to operate both sustainably and off-grid. Our first product is BioNomad™ – an innovative, modular and scalable waste-to-energy system which incorporates an anaerobic digestion process at its core, producing biogas for cooking, heating or electricity, as well as a high-grade organic fertiliser which can be upscaled using built-in passive solar pasteuriser. It is modular, can be easily shipped and installed even in very small farms , yet is scalable to meet the changing needs of each customer over time.

EcoNomad Solutions is part of the Shake Climate Change program of Rothamsted Research, where the company is based, as well as a member of the EIT Food Accelerator Network of the European Union. We were a finalist in the 2021 FoodTech 500 and, last year, our BioNomad™ waste-to-energy platform was highly commended by The Anaerobic Digestion and Bioresources Association (ADBA) and World Biogas Association at AD & Biogas Industry Awards 2022 in category Anaerobic Digestion Pacesetter: Micro Anaerobic Digestion.
