Stable America is a venture backed fintech that helps US food and farming businesses manage volatile commodity prices. The business is part of Stable Group with operations in London, Minneapolis, Bermuda and Amsterdam.
Stable are looking for Commodity Sales Executives to expand Stable’s services across America and support our US based clients.
Any candidate must have a minimum of 4 years of experience in Agricultural Commodity Price Risk Management and a proven track record in sales. (Please do not apply without this level of experience)
Stable sell OTC Options to businesses that can prove they have a real risk that they are looking to protect. A typical client is a $50-500m T/O food manufacturer that is exposed to rising commodity costs.
Stable specialise in untraded commodities that our clients have never been able to hedge before and typically sell on a B2B basis direct to procurement professionals, CFO’s and Treasury departments
You’ll need to be a highly motivated self starter as you’ll work remotely at home when not visiting clients and events. This creates great flexibility for family life and where you’re located, but the majority of our food and farming clients are based in California, Texas and New York /PA so applicants who can easily travel to these locations will be prioritised.
Less than 10% of agricultural commodities are traded on a liquid exchange, making it hard to accurately protect your business from price risk. Stable already hosts over 3000 niche/untraded commodity indexes which can be used to insure a business from price risk. Stable also bring the liquidity required from our global reinsurance partners
The current team is made up of a diverse and talented crew of data scientists, developers, commodity analysts and sales. They’ve joined us from the likes of Louis Dreyfus, ADM, Cargill, EDF&Man and Rabobank etc. Stable will expect you to have a similar background and experience.
You’ll be selling to a wide range of corporate clients and large farming businesses who are looking to protect their business from volatile raw material costs, as well as interacting with major distributors such as banks and insurers.

We’re looking for determined, confident team players that can build strong relationships with senior decision makers at a wide range of businesses. You will need to show you can use your own initiative and thrive on delivering results. Key parts of the role include:
- Research, identify and close new sales opportunities
- Responding to incoming leads
- Working with the Back Office team in London
- Maintaining excellent relationships with existing customers
- Attending industry events
The candidate will have:
- A proven sales background
- Agriculture Commodity risk management experience and strong industry contacts
- Strong social skills. Relationships are key in this industry.
- Team Player. We’re a small and fast growing team so this really matters
- Financially literate. We are primarily selling to CFO’s, treasury and procurement departments
- IT fluency. We’re a technology company first and foremost.
