REAP: Agri-TechE’s flagship Conference – November 2021
REAP brings together people from across Agri-TechE’s unique ecosystem who believe that innovation is the engine behind adaptive change for the industry.
It brings together those who want to develop or deploy new technology, bring fresh thinking and apply best practice to make a difference to agriculture and horticulture – in the UK and beyond. This includes farmers and growers, researchers and technology developers, entrepreneurs and investors, as well as professional and commercial service providers.
The conference is strongly focused around bridging the gap between producer needs and innovation-based solutions, as well as showcasing the increasingly vibrant agri-tech start-up community. This is achieved through a day long conference agenda, tech exhibition and extensive networking opportunities.
Ag101 – September 2021
The unique one-day introduction provides some insights into the agriculture sector, the opportunities it presents and some of the challenges that are still seeking solutions. Agri-food production is a growing industry that offers opportunities for the application of technologies and services developed for and by other industries, however the successful implementation of these solutions requires domain knowledge.
Young Innovators’ Forum conference – March 2021
The YIF conference is hosted yearly, attended by those early in their career from a variety of backgrounds, all sharing an interest in agricultural innovation, including farm practice, consultancy, technology development and research. Bringing the group together around innovative and pioneering locations, we endeavour to generate conversation, inspire participants, new thinking and collaborations while also bridging the gap between research and production.
YIF is kindly sponsored by The Morley Agricultural Foundation (TMAF).
Agri-tech missions in 2021
There has been considerable growth in Agri-TechE’s international activities and memberships, and we have a number of exciting initiatives for 2021.
New partnership with Western Growers Association – the organisation represents family farmers across California, Arizona, Colorado and New Mexico, who provide over half of America’s fresh fruits, vegetables and tree nut. It is partnering with Agri-TechE to accelerate innovation in field harvest automation. There is an opportunity for tech businesses to get involved in an exciting collaborative programme in robotics development for the fruit and vegetable sectors. More information.
Next stage in the relationship with Missouri agri-tech ecosystem – Missouri is the heartland for 50 per cent of US crop and livestock production. Following the success of the visit to St Louis, Missouri, in February 2020, we are continuing to develop the relationship this exciting agri-tech partnership in the US Midwest. This includes hosting a week-long virtual mission in April 2021, to explore the technology and introduce the businesses on both sides of the Atlantic. This will be an ideal opportunity not only to learn about developments and opportunities in the US, but also to showcase some of the technology and innovations developed by Agri-TechE members. More information.
A new mission with the British Embassy Warsaw – farmers and agri-tech companies from a consortium of four countries – Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic and Slovakia – will meet Agri-TechE members at a virtual matchmaking event in March.
Agri-TechE is in a great position to support missions and similar initiatives with other overseas markets, to further foster international partnerships, innovation and growth for our members. In addition, we continue to work with a number of other overseas businesses to support them in developing agri-tech networks and clusters.
