Young Innovators’ Conference 2022: Innovating for the Extremes

Thursday 10th March @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Over the last 5 years we have seen increasing cases of more extreme weather conditions, not just in the UK but across the world, which are having an impact on food production and security. Crops lost due to flooding, lower yields due to freak storms and differing pest and disease pressures are challenging our farming systems. What does this mean for farmers in the future in terms of productivity and efficiency?

Climate change is driving these more extreme conditions and is posing a monumental challenge and one in which there global efforts are being put in to address the causes. Can we be innovating to mitigate the impacts while also finding ways to overcome some of these challenges? As well as the challenges, are there also opportunities for growing different, novel crops which would not have been possible before?

Join us on 10th March at Morley Farms to learn more about the work being done to innovate for these changing conditions and to provide our farmers ways to mitigate some of the climatic changes and optimize the way they farm to make the most of the opportunities.

This conference is for anyone early in their career working in the agricultural sector, from students and young farmers to agronomists, research scientists to accountants and everything in between. Acceptance to attend is not decided on age but experience within the sector, please drop us an email to check if this is relevant or not to you if you are at all unsure.
