Online Explore Event: Feel the buzz – insect-tech explored

Tuesday 26th April @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

According to Astronomer Royal, Prof Lord Martin Rees, “An insect is more complex than a star … and is a far greater challenge to understand.”

Agri-TechE’s April event will be online and taking a deep dive into the new technologies to help farmers provide great working conditions for some of their most important farm-workers – insects.

Beneficial insects are the new must-have livestock group on farms, being the most common class of creatures on Earth and the unsung heroes of all our lives. Encouraging more pollinators into our lives – and especially towards crops that rely on insect services to reproduce – is a key priority for many growers.

Yet technology is enabling more detailed understanding of the behaviours of beneficial insects and how to attract them, retain them, and even harness them to do additional jobs – from the “internet of bees” to widening the pool of pollinators to increase crop productivity the future is buzzing with potential.

Join us as we celebrate the diverse range of roles this versatile group of animals can deliver for agriculture.
