Agri-TechE Member Exclusive Event 2022
Tuesday 13th September @ 1:30 pm - 4:30 pm
In-Person Agri-TechE Member Event
Questions around labour, reduction in use of chemicals, the impact of prices and the ever-increasing influence of the climate around us are issues for almost all farmers across the world, regardless of the crops they grow, the livestock they manage, or the machinery they deploy.
Join us for this Agri-TechE member-exclusive event hosted at G’s Fresh to meet with the network, gain a healthy respect for the skills of those who put food on our plates, and see for yourself where innovation can make a real difference out in the field.
You will have the option to experience first-hand what’s involved in producing a high-quality British food product – salad vegetables – by being part of the Agri-TechE Salad Rig Challenge. Working in teams, this is an unprecedented opportunity to try your hand on a lettuce-harvesting rig with fellow network members.
We’ll also be hosting a social get-together with food to celebrate the “harvest” and the highly-anticipated Grand Prize-Giving of the Salad Rig Challenge.
Why should you attend? In addition to plenty of networking with fellow members of Agri-TechE;
As a technology developer you’ll come away with some new ideas of where and how innovation is helping – and crucially where there is still a pressing need for new thinking.
As a farmer you’ll gain an insight into the production systems in one of the UK’s largest salad grower, and the chance to ask questions and gain inspiration.
As a researcher you’ll have a unique opportunity to see the impact of research and see the real world challenges the scientific community is working to address (and maybe get some ideas for your next grant proposal!).
As a professional services provider you can further develop your network and ground-truth your thinking in the latest on-farm issues – whether they are production-related, financial or labour.
With thanks to our members G’s Growers, this is a unique chance to see for yourself the way food and farming works, with an opportunity to get hands-on for those that would like to.
Places are limited so please book early – they will be allocated on a first come, first served basis (and everyone will of course receive a full health and safety briefing).
This FREE event is exclusive to Agri-TechE members. Places are limited to 2 people per organisation.
