Provocative questions are being posed at the Agri-TechE Controlled Environment Agriculture conference, which is exploring emerging technologies for vertical farming and for growing crops in a secure indoor spaces.
We’ve gone international this month, with trips to Australia and an agri-tech visit currently underway in St Louis, Missouri.
Change provides an opportunity for innovation. This month we explore how the rapid growth of Controlled Environment Agriculture is driving change in food production and stimulating the emergence of platform technologies. Also how the increasing popularity of English wines is boosting interest in this alternative crop.
This is the first update under our new name Agri-TechE and 2020 already looks as though it will be the beginning of many changes. The Oxford Farming Conference was first opportunity to hear from spokespeople from the new Government, which makes our January members only event very timely with speakers from Defra and Innovate UK.
Agri-Tech East has been named ‘Networking Group of the Year’ in the national final of the SME Business Awards! The scale of the agri-tech cluster is increasing and we have outgrown our name! Our membership now spans the UK and internationally, as well as the east of England, so from January we will be Agri-TechE.
