REAP 2022 is off the blocks and we couldn‘t be more excited to launch our 9th annual conference ‘Making Sense of Agriculture’.

Making Sense of Agriculture – REAP 2022
Tuesday 8th November, Wellcome Trust Conference Centre, Cambridge
The interface between the real and digital worlds is the focus for our flagship REAP conference. The meeting of the real and virtual worlds via cutting-edge digital tools can allow farmers to explore different options in a low-risk environment, as well as speeding up R&D for tech and research.
We are delighted to be welcoming keynote speaker Elizabeth Fastiggi, Head of Worldwide Agriculture at Amazon Web Services, as our keynote speaker.

How is the war in Ukraine impacting the agri-food sector?

Sunflower oil is in short supply, wheat prices and input costs are rising – sector specialist Paul McGrade of Lexington will give a short overview of some of the issues and opportunities, as well as the risks/challenges to food security at this Agri-Tech Express meeting. Rising input costs are among the current challenges for a potato farm. Nick Sheppard, of Upton Suffolk Farms, led the first Agri-TechE farm walk of 2022 where he demonstrated agri-tech in action.

Networking at Cereals 2022
8th / 9th June, Chrishall Grange, Cambs,
Cereals is a great networking opportunity, with many Agri-TechE members talking or exhibiting. We give an overview of where you can meet our members and look forward to hearing your thoughts about the 4th Agricultural Revolution. Director Belinda Clarke will be joined by Bofin, CHAP, Small Robot Company, Rothamstead Research and AHDB in a lively discussion at 2pm on Day 2.
Be inspired by agri-tech innovation at Groundswell!

Join us at Groundswell for lightning pitches from tech and research innovators with interests in regenerative and carbon-sensitive agriculture. The Agri-TechE Innovation Insights session promises a high energy hour starting at 4pm on Day 1 Speaker’s Corner.
Do stop by our stand MS7 in the Exhibition Marquee, where the Agri-TechE team will be on hand to talk about innovation for regenerative agriculture. It’s ‘Time for Tech’ at the Royal Norfolk Show
29th/30th June, Norfolk Showground
Smart irrigation, camo-cropping and biocontrol to reduce inputs and stimulate crop resilience; novel ways to boost nutrition in soils and grassland, and an innovative way to improve safety on farm are all featured in the Innovation Hub.

Funding Latest
BBSRC Business and Academia Prosperity Partnership
For the first time, the BBSRC is offering up to £11 million in funding to support established research partnerships between business and academic institutions for projects of up to five years. The Prosperity Partnerships funding opportunity aims to fund business-led research that arises from an industrial need, with the work being co-delivered between the business and academic partners.
BBSRC Partnerships to address for crop pest and diseases in UK Agriculture and Horticulture
BBSRC is investing £2M to enable research and innovation for new controls, strategies and approaches to manage crop pest and diseases of interest to farmers and growers in the UK. We aim to support up to forty new projects to initiate partnerships between academia and businesses in the agricultural and horticultural sectors.
