Keeping the flame alive at the Innovation Hub
28th June – 2nd July – Online
Breakthroughs in genomics, diagnostics, climate control and plant protection are among the advances that have featured in the Innovation Hub at the Royal Norfolk Show over the last six years. The Hub has provided a snapshot of agri-tech developments and an opportunity to meet scientists and technologists. Sadly the Show is not happening this year, but to keep the momentum going we have reviewed some of the highlights and caught up with a number of past exhibitors to find out what they are working on now.
Heartbreak and hope - the story of a new diagnostic for bovine TB
6th July – online
What is it like to be a dairy farmer when the herd you have built up over many decades is decimated by disease? How will a new approach revolutionise the management of bovine TB and Johne’s Disease? What does it take to get a radically different diagnostic to market? Jonnie Yewdall of PDB Biotech tells the story at this Agri-Tech Express event.

Out in the field at Groundswell and Cereals
Interest in regenerative agriculture is gaining momentum – and we saw many of our members at Groundswell. This approach creates fresh challenges for farmers and it was interesting to discuss with delegates where new technology could make the most impact. We have captured some of the discussion in our blog.
We will also be enjoying Cereals 2021 on 30th June – peruse our overview of members that will be exhibiting. We hope to see you there!
Breeding resilience in a time of change
23rd September 2021 – online
We anticipate that findings from the government consultation on gene editing will be announced shortly. The impact of regulation as a enabler for innovation is a topic of great interest – genetic engineering is an area that has much to gain from increased clarity and a number of the most exciting technologies will be discussed at our Advanced Breeding event. This includes Biocleave, which is working with Rothamsted Research on a new generation of plant protection products.
