Vitabeam

Vitabeam Ltd has developed a world-first, patented cocktail of light wavelengths. Deployed via our VQe MaxStrip, the LED light bar simultaneously kills bacteria and mould, and boosts plant yield. Our VQe MaxStrip is chemical-free and non-UV, producing the safest and highest quality produce.

What are the benefits for growers?

Growers can lose up to 50% of their crop due to mould and bacteria. The VQe MaxStrip kills pathogens, meaning growers can sell a higher percentage of their crop as first class produce, and reduce their waste. Furthermore, the VQe MaxStrip stimulates photosynthesis, increasing plant biomass. This results in a higher yield and/or faster crop cycles, improving food security and increasing company profits.

What are the benefits for retailers?

The VQe MaxStrip extends the shelf-life of fresh produce including vegetables, fruits, meat, fish, and seafood by up to 50%. Not only does this massively benefit the environment through colossal waste reduction, but it also increases sales, customer satisfaction, and profits for the business.

Increasing food security, food safety, and reducing food waste are at the heart of what we do. If you’d like to learn more about how we can help your business, please contact us today!

The ‘Let There Be Light’ event was really engaging and very well-organised. The impact was even greater post our the COVID lockdowns. The event was full of interesting people and insightful speakers, but delivered with concise presentations. The tour of the University of Essex Biology and Robotics faculty added to the list of positives for this event, as we were able to see first-hand their latest experiments and share thoughts with a diverse range of professional growers during tour discussions.

Agri-TechE has fostered a brilliant community of organisations within the agritech industry. We were delighted to be among such a dynamic crowd. We will definitely be attending any future Agri-TechE events. Thank you!

Vitabeam’s novel ‘Quantum Energy’ lighting boosts yield and extends shelf-life

Moulds such as mildew and botrytis are major issues for undercover crops. Vitabeam has developed an innovative lighting system that promotes plant growth whilst improving product shelf life by disinfecting the product during growth and before packaging

Supercharging light provides plants with energy cocktail to fight pathogens and thrive

“For many growers, roughly 5-10% of a crop is going to waste due to mold and other bacteria. Additionally, 20% of the product is downgraded to class 2.” "So, we developed a lighting technology that helps them get rid of molds, bacteria, and dangerous pathogens safely with no chemicals, no UV, and no gasses.”

Fighting mold and pathogens with a 'lighting wand'

We have developed the Bre3 Wand non-invasive and supercharging LED light bar that goes alongside a grower’s current grow lights,” James explains. “This light provides the plant with a special and proprietary cocktail of light energy that can’t be found in any other grow light. Thanks to that, plants have improved water and nutrient uptake, as well as increased CO2 absorption and boosted oxygen production. The results are stronger, healthier, and bigger plants with bigger roots, stronger stems, and better vascular development in CEA and cannabis plants.

When it comes to technological breakthroughs, few have the potential to tackle food waste for growers, packers, retailers and homes, as radically and effectively as Vitabeam. Vitabeam has created a world-first LED light bar, which emits a unique combination of light wavelengths called VQe (Vitabeam Quantum energy).
