Coreo by Natural Apptitude

Natural Apptitude is a software company with two main areas of work. Firstly, we support the agricultural and ecological sectors by creating ‘made to measure’ software to solve specific problems. We specialise in building location-based data collection and citizen science projects, such as the Big Butterfly Count and Healthy Hedgerows project. The latter provides farmers with a hedgerow health-check and gives them instant feedback on hedgerow management options.

Our second area of work is Coreo, our ‘no-code’ app building and data management platform. Coreo provides you with a simple solution to building and running your own location-based data collection surveys. Examples of use range from farmer-led groups collecting biodiversity data to estates using it for in-field reporting of yields, crop pests and issues with infrastructure. It can also be used for setting up surveys such as health and safety questionnaires to ensure that staff comply with regulations.

Helping Britain’s Hedgerows – an extraordinary ecosystem hidden in plain sight

Hedgerows might just be the most overlooked ‘super habitat’ we have. In just 6 questions, Healthy Hedgerows, developed by the Natural Apptitude team, enables farmers to undertake a rapid assessment of their hedges. It then provides instant management advice, which is tailored specifically to the structure and condition of the hedge in question. No matter what stage a hedge is at within its lifecycle, there is a way to return it to its best.
