Welcome to 2018! We have lots of big plans for the year ahead - read about them in our first 2018 newsletter.

Agri-Tech East's January Newsletter

The year has started with a well-publicised speech by Michael Gove, Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. Among other things he talked about the need to improve our soils and to use new ways to value land use and management. We will be exploring both of these topics this month in our latest blog, which takes a new look at the role of livestock on arable farms, and in our Pollinator on how farmers can put a financial value on so-called Natural Capital.

In other news, we start interviews this month for a new person to join our team with a focus on special projects, which is a shared role with AHDB. Funding innovation is the theme of this month's Professional Insights article, featuring Craig Sigley from Barclays talking about the need to embed innovation into the industry “swiftly and completely” – click here to read on.

We wish you all a healthy and successful 2018 and look forward to working with you in
the coming year.
